Lights Review

Lights Introduction

The hypnotic Lights slot game from NetEnt is another terrific addition to this popular software developer’s big range of interesting and unique games. This is a 5 reel and 9 payline game that takes place against a beautiful Asian backdrop of mountains and lakes at dusk. The symbols are made up of amazing lanterns of different colours that glow alluringly on the screen. It is a very prettily designed game that comes to life when you spin the reels and coloured fireflies behind to swarm around the screen, changing normal symbols into Wilds on your behalf. There is a peaceful, Zen like quality to the Lights slot from NetEnt that makes it very calming to play. Once those fireflies start swarming around it is easy to just sit back and enjoy the spectacle. The laid-back music also helps to bring the Lights slot alive, as it fits in perfectly with the theme and with the graphics.

Gameplay

The gameplay is very simple, which adds to the overall appeal of the game. It is perhaps best viewed as a beautifully simplistic slots game that lets you soak up the prettiness of the setting with a gameplay that anyone can get the hang of at any time. It is also worth noting that this is one of the slots available in the NetEnt Touch series of mobile games. Lights Touch can be played on an Android tablet or phone, as well as on iPhones or iPads.

Features

• Free spins
• Floating wilds
• Extra floating wilds on Free spins
• Autoplay
• Mobile

Among the most exciting features, we can see that up to 4 symbols turn wild on each spin, which gives the player a far greater prospect of a big win. This is what the fireflies do when they are swarming around, as they turn the normal symbols into Floating Wilds for you.

Wild Symbol and Scatters

The Wild symbol is then easy enough to spot, as it is the one that says Wild on it. Even if you don’t get all 4 of them, you will get a minimum of 2 at a time on every single spin that you play. The Scatter symbol that triggers the game’s Free spins is a Yin Yang symbol. If you get 3 of them on any spin then you are awarded 10 Free spins, 4 give 20 Free spins and when you are lucky enough to get 5 Scatter symbols your prize is a batch of 30 Free spins. Once the Free spins feature is triggered a maximum of 6 symbols will turn wild on each Free spins. Up to 30 Free spins can be won, although this figure can be increased through re-triggering more of them. The fact that there are Wild symbols on every single spin means that the Lights game is a slot that offers lots of small wins sprinkled throughout your playing time. This means that it is a low variance slot that is unlikely to bring you many big wins but that will see you complete winning lines on a fairly regular basis instead.

Conclusion

The Lights slot from NetEnt isn’t really for high rollers looking for non-stop excitement and huge wins. Instead, it is probably perfect for someone who wants to spend a relaxing time playing something that looks good and has a chilled out vibe.
